So - I'm still on this quest for toothpaste. I found one on-line called Theodent. They sent me a sample to try. It came wrapped like some yummy box of chocolate. (It IS made from the cocoa plant!)
Even the tube looks a bit like a box of chocolate.
I was quite excited to try this. I had some discussions with the people at Theodent about the ingredients in their toothpaste. As you know, I'm trying to avoid SLS (because of canker sores) and flouride. I wasn't too thrilled that this toothpaste had glycerin in it, but there are conflicting opinions about that ingredient, so I was willing to let that slide. Instead of SLS, they use a foaming agent called sodium lauroyl sarcosinate. What on earth is that? Well, that's what I wondered too! Well, it's chemically similar to SLS, but is supposedly 'milder'. Why do I want this in my toothpaste? I don't think I do, but I was willing to try it. (I did have a free sample after all!)
I used it for three days........... then (drum roll, please)........ I got a CANKER SORE! Yep! I'll be skipping the foaming agents in the future, thank you!
